Positioning

What branding costs in Dubai in 2026, and what decides the price

The direct answer

Dubai agencies and studios that publish their prices in 2026 place a logo alone at roughly AED 500 to AED 10,000, a starter identity from a freelancer at AED 5,000 to AED 15,000, a studio built identity for a small or medium business at about AED 15,000 to AED 40,000, and a full agency rebrand from AED 40,000 to AED 150,000 and above. Those figures are the agencies' own, and no independent survey of Dubai branding prices was found. Three things move a quote: whether positioning and strategy are part of the work or the price covers design only, how senior the person doing the thinking is, and whether Arabic is designed alongside English, which one studio says adds 15 to 25 percent. UAE VAT is 5 percent. A provider outside the UAE charges no UAE VAT, and a VAT registered client accounts for it under the reverse charge. Branding Tatva's Foundation engagement starts at US$2,800, about AED 10,300 at the fixed peg.

Five conclusions

The argument, compressed.

  • Published Dubai prices in 2026 cluster at AED 15,000 to AED 40,000 for a small business identity from a studio. Every figure comes from an agency's own page.
  • The largest gap between two quotes is usually strategy. One price covers a logo and colours. The other also covers who the business is for and what it says.
  • Arabic and English designed together costs more than English alone. Ask whether it is bundled or billed separately before you compare totals.
  • UAE VAT is 5 percent. A supplier outside the UAE charges none, and a VAT registered client self accounts under the reverse charge.
  • The dirham is pegged at AED 3.6725 to the US dollar, so a dollar quote from a remote strategist converts at a fixed rate.

Thinking

Does the price include positioning: who the business is for, against which alternatives, and why they should choose it? Or does design start from your own brief?

The price ranges Dubai studios publish

Several Dubai agencies now publish price guides, and their tiers line up closely. Carril Agency lists junior freelancers at AED 2,000 to AED 8,000, boutique studios at AED 12,000 to AED 40,000 and senior agencies at AED 45,000 to AED 150,000 and above. Streetlevel lists a starter identity at AED 5,000 to AED 15,000, a studio identity at AED 15,000 to AED 40,000 and an agency rebrand at AED 40,000 to AED 180,000 and above. 247 Agency puts a core identity at AED 10,000 to AED 25,000 and a full identity system at AED 25,000 to AED 60,000.

Strategy on its own is priced less often. One Dubai consultant lists standalone brand strategy at AED 8,000 to AED 30,000 and brand guidelines at AED 5,000 to AED 15,000. Another agency lists a brand strategy document at AED 25,000 to AED 80,000.

Read all of these as asking prices from sellers. No independent survey of Dubai branding fees turned up in research for this guide. The ranges are still useful as a map of where a quote sits.

  • Logo alone: about AED 500 to AED 10,000.
  • Starter identity, usually a freelancer: about AED 5,000 to AED 15,000.
  • Studio identity for a small or medium business: about AED 15,000 to AED 40,000.
  • Agency identity system or rebrand: about AED 40,000 to AED 150,000 and above.

The short version

A small service business in Dubai should expect AED 15,000 to AED 40,000 from a local studio, and should ask what thinking that price includes.

What decides the price

Strategy is the first divider. A design only quote assumes you already know who the business is for and what it should say. A strategy led quote includes that work: interviews, a look at the alternatives buyers compare, a positioning statement and core messages. For a clinic or a consultancy in a crowded Dubai district, that is usually the part that changes enquiries, and it is the part a low quote leaves out.

Seniority is the second. Agency prices carry account managers, offices and juniors. A solo senior practitioner or a small studio can charge less for the same level of thinking because fewer people touch the work.

Arabic is the third. Dubai's sign rules give Arabic at least half of a permitted sign, so an identity that exists only in Latin letters is half finished. One Dubai studio states that Arabic and English projects add 15 to 25 percent to the total. That figure is a single studio's own, so use it as a prompt to ask, and get the Arabic scope written into the quote.

VAT, and paying a provider outside the UAE

UAE VAT is 5 percent. The Ministry of Finance sets mandatory registration at AED 375,000 of taxable supplies and imports in a year. Check whether a quote is shown with or without VAT. One Dubai studio, for example, publishes its fixed fee as VAT inclusive.

A supplier with no UAE residence, such as a strategist working remotely from another country, charges no UAE VAT on the invoice. Under Article 48 of the VAT Executive Regulation, a VAT registered UAE business that buys such services accounts for the VAT itself at the domestic rate in its own return. This is the reverse charge. Since January 2026, the Ministry of Finance says businesses are relieved from issuing a self invoice for it, though they keep the supporting documents.

This is a summary to help you compare quotes. Your accountant should confirm how it applies to your business, including whether you are registered and how healthcare supplies are treated.

Dollar quotes and the dirham

The dirham is pegged to the US dollar. The Central Bank of the UAE's published rate tables show AED 3.6725 to the dollar every day. A quote in dollars therefore carries no currency risk for a Dubai business: US$2,800 is about AED 10,300 today and on the day the invoice is due.

That makes remote providers who price in dollars easy to compare with local ones. Convert at 3.6725, add nothing for VAT on the foreign invoice, and note the reverse charge if you are registered.

Freelancer, studio, agency or remote strategist

A freelancer suits a business that knows its position and needs a clean mark and a small set of files. The risk is a logo with no thinking behind it and no Arabic.

A local studio suits a business that wants identity design, Arabic lettering and sign ready artwork under one roof. Ask to see Arabic work in the portfolio, as Dubai agencies themselves advise buyers to do.

An agency suits a multi location group, a rebrand with many stakeholders or a launch with campaign production. The price reflects the team.

A remote strategist suits a founder who wants senior thinking on position, name and message and is content to use a local designer or sign contractor for production. India based practices such as Branding Tatva sit 90 minutes ahead of Dubai, so calls happen in ordinary working hours.

Where to start

Write down what you need decided and what you need made. If the open questions are who the business is for and why someone should choose it over the clinic or firm down the road, buy the thinking first. If those are settled and written down, buy the design.

Then send the same one page brief and the five questions above to three providers. The quotes that come back will be for the same job, and the choice gets simpler.

Before you use it

Questions that can change the recommendation.

How much does branding cost in Dubai in 2026?

Dubai studios that publish prices list a logo alone at about AED 500 to AED 10,000, a studio identity for a small or medium business at about AED 15,000 to AED 40,000, and agency rebrands from AED 40,000 to AED 150,000 and above. These are the agencies' own published figures.

How much does a logo cost in Dubai?

Published guides from Dubai agencies range from about AED 500 on design platforms to AED 2,000 to AED 10,000 from freelancers and small studios. A logo alone leaves out positioning, messaging and usually the Arabic version, so check what the price covers.

Is VAT charged on branding services in the UAE?

A UAE registered supplier adds 5 percent VAT. A supplier with no UAE residence charges no UAE VAT, and a VAT registered client accounts for it under the reverse charge in Article 48 of the VAT Executive Regulation. Ask your accountant to confirm your position.

Does Arabic branding cost extra in Dubai?

Often. One Dubai studio states that Arabic and English projects add 15 to 25 percent. Because Dubai's sign rules give Arabic at least half of a permitted sign, ask every provider whether the Arabic wordmark is included and who draws it.

Can I hire a brand strategist outside the UAE for a Dubai business?

Yes. Strategy, naming and messaging are delivered remotely as a matter of course. Agree in writing who handles Arabic lettering, Arabic copy, sign permits and any regulated advertising approval, since those need local specialists.

What does Branding Tatva charge for a Dubai project?

Dubai and UAE projects are quoted in US dollars. The Foundation engagement starts at US$2,800, about AED 10,300 at the fixed peg of AED 3.6725. The Full Brand System starts at US$6,500, about AED 23,900, and the monthly Brand Partnership starts at US$1,500, about AED 5,500. The final fee is set in a written proposal after a 30 minute call.
